« on: February 24, 2008, 05:28:41 AM »
The replacement of Reed Reservoir off Hidden Trails Road near the city's northeastern boundary. The city would spend $8 million to replace the 2.75 million-gallon steel reservoir built in 1954 with a concrete reservoir that can hold 5 million gallons, the report says. http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2007/08/21/news/inland/escondido/19_50_558_20_07.txt

Reed Reservoir Replacement

The City of Escondido has signed a contract with Gateway Pacific Contractors to replace the existing reservoir located on Hidden Trails with two new concrete tanks.  The contractor will be given a Notice to Proceed on June 14, 2010, the expected duration of the contract will be approximately 18 months.  All planned work will be contained within the existing reservoir site.  In the near future you can expect to see a construction trailer moved onto the site.  The first work to take place will include removing trees and vegetation in all areas where work is to be done and installing temporary above ground pipeline to replace an existing pipe that goes south from the existing tank down the canyon towards the San Pasqual Valley.
